Report claims Walmart falling woefully short of sustainability goals

A new report called "Walmart's Greenwash" claims that only 2% of Walmart's energy came from renewable sources last year. At Walmart's current pace, it would take 300 years to reach its goal of 100% renewable energy, the report claims. And while Walmart has reduced the energy use of its stores built before 2005 by an average of 10%, eliminating some 1.5 million metric tons of carbon-dioxide annually, its new stores have outweighed those measures, adding at least 3.5 million metric tons of yearly CO2 output, according to the report.
