Take-out containers get green
InnoWare Plastic, Inc. (www.innowareinc.com) has added two green material options to its OctaView® line of take-out food containers: bio-based and PETE resin versions.
The company’s hinged, dual-color ECO OctaView containers are made of NatureWorks Ingeo® resin, coextruded with Cereplast plastic, which offers a heat tolerance of 120° F. Both resins are made from plant-based, sustainable and renewable materials. ECO containers are available with a tan base to convey an earth-friendly message, says the company, and feature a clear lid to enhance food presentation and merchandising. The containers are biodegradable and compostable, where facilities exist.
InnoWare’s new hinged, dual-color PETE OctaView containers are made from PETE resin and address the demand for environmentally friendly packaging that carries the #1 recyclable mark, which means that the packaging can be recycled where facilities exist. The PETE line is also made with at least 50% post-industrial recycled plastic.
