‘Trash to Treasure’ poll: recycling is big for consumers
Results from a new poll on re-use indicates that a majority of consumers appreciate products made from recycled materials and companies that make it easy to recycle.
A new Green is Universal poll, "From Trash To Treasure," on consumers and re-use, found the following:
• 62% of respondents say they are making a conscious effort to purchase products made by environmentally responsible companies
• 68% say they are paying more attention to whether products are made from recycled materials
• 84% appreciate companies who make it easier for them to recycle
• 78% appreciate companies who make using recycled materials a priority because it provides them with an easy way to help the environment
• 57% say they are likely to encourage others to buy products that are made from recycled materials
Green is Universal is NBC Universal's ongoing green initiative dedicated to raising green awareness. The re-use study was conducted online among 844 U.S. adults, 18 years and older, on the NBC Universal Contemporary Consumer Panel between March 9 and March 14, 2011. Data for the study was weighted to reflect the total U.S. adult 18 years and older online population.
