Pregis Hexacomb receives FSC certification
Pregis Hexacomb® has received the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) Chain of Custody certification for products produced at its Ermelo, Netherlands, production facility. The company says that that is one of the first honeycomb producers to receive FSC certification.
Hexacomb is made from 100% paper (all natural, renewable virgin, and post-consumer recycled fibers) and engineered into a proprietary honeycomb configuration. Pregis says that the product offers excellent strength, and superior cushioning and blocking/bracing functions for a range of protective packaging and other applications. Hexacomb products include sheets, runners, and edge and corner protectors.
The Ermelo facility is one of three Hexacomb plants located in Europe. (The other two are located in Amboise, France, and Aoiz, Spain.) It services customers within a 620-mile radius of its 107,000-sq-ft plant. This impacts customers in the U.K., Spain, France, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy.
