Peter Clarke, CEO of Product Ventures, discusses how the brand/consumer packaging relationship of the future must change to facilitate sustainability.
Peter Clarke, CEO of Product Ventures, [11] a design and innovation agency based in Fairfield, CT, was recently interviewed on Fox Business to discuss the future of sustainable packaging.
According to Clarke, today's packaging enables the product to safely get to market, prolongs the life of the product, communicates the product's attributes and serves as the tangible brand ambassador. However, he tells Fox Business, as we move forward in our efforts to create a sustainable future, we must reconsider the packaging systems that were developed without consideration to their impact on our planet. To fully address the needs of the planet, he says, the brand/consumer packaging relationship that we have today, could radically change in the future.
In the upcoming November issue of Packaging World magazine, Clarke elaborates on this changing relationship, providing examples of new sustainable packaging solutions.
