Avery Dennison Label and Packaging Materials has launched a new HP Indigo-certified digital print-ready version of its high-performance Global MDO film. With the addition of this new facestock, Avery Dennison continues to expand its portfolio of HP Indigo-certified substrates, which are available in minimum order quantities.
Available in clear and white options, the new top-coated digital film laminate is part of the company’s machine direction orientated (MDO) film product line. The films feature a balance of properties that are said to eliminate darts and wrinkles in high-speed dispensing environments and challenging packaging formats, for greater shelf and brand appeal.
According to Avery Dennison, the exceptional strength of 50-micron MDO film and 23-micron polyester liner virtually eliminates line shutdowns due to web breaks. The company’s new S7000 adhesive technology increases productivity with up to 50% lower ooze and elimination of adhesive contamination in critical processes.
The complete construction is approximately 50% thinner than today’s standard product of PE85 film on glassine liner, so Global MDO delivers almost twice as many labels per roll, thereby delivering overall better operational efficiency throughout the supply chain.
Based on findings of Avery Dennison™ Greenprint study, a product Life Cycle Assessment methodology, due to lower material usage, Global MDO produces 40% less solid waste, consumes 37% less energy, and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 10% compared to today’s standard products.
