Well, less than three days until the family tears into presents! I have to admit, their is a level of "pain" involved with the holidays. Think about it, we buy all these wrapping papers, we wrap up all these gifts, then in a matter of seconds, the paper is flying across the room. It's then picked up and thrown in the garbage.

Now... I introduce you to.... THE SUSTAINABLE HOLIDAY!!!!

Wouldn't it be better, instead of buying and wrapping all these gifts.... to buy blindfolds!! Hide the presents, unwrapped in places around the house (each person has a hiding place). Then, when it's time to open presents, you put the blindfold on the person, then grab the gift and place it in front of them! Remove the blindfold and walla..... SURPRISE! One by one, you blindfold each person and exchange gifts. Think of it.... all the money you could save on wrapping paper. All the time you can save by not wrapping the gifts. Also, and I am not sure about your household, but in mine we go through all the presents in an hour of mad chaos. By doing it "my way".... it would make the entire gift giving session longer!

Also, you can use the blindfold year after year... or you can be daring and swap blindfolds! Call me crazy.... I can live with that! Since I haven't bought my gifts yet (hey, it's only the evening of the 22nd, I have time), this would sure make it easier for me.

I just can't bring myself to wrap gifts in Newspaper!
