Interview Request for Packaging Experts

Tytti-Lotta Ojala

Researcher, Helsinki School of Economics
Location: Helsinki, Finland
Role: Academic

Dear greenerpackage.com readers,

I'm a researcher at Helsinki School of Economics and study competitiveness in packaging. My research is titled "Packaging renewal and product competitiveness - Brand owners abilities to maximize consumer experience and value".

I'm looking for U.S.-based company representatives for interviews.
The goal of these interviews is to create a U.S. perspective on the packaging process and product-packaging concept creation.

You can work in marketing, product management, manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing, logistics, environmental issues...any function or department that takes part in the packaging development process. I have already collected data in Finland and interviewed experts from Nokia, Huhtamäki, Stora Enso and SCA.

I have been invited to Stanford University and will stay in California between October and December 2009. I have studied in Stanford design thinking, as in its University of Arts and also Design Helsinki, University of Technology Helsinki. I have graduated from Turku School of Economics as M. Sc. (Econ.) and have been accepted to the Ph.D. program in the Helsinki School of Economics.

I have worked with packaging in design agencies for years, so the topic is familiar to me. However, lots of expert opinions are needed also from the academic world to enhance innovative thinking and human-centered focus. How? This I would like to hear partly from you.

If you would be willing to participate in my research during the fall - all opinions are of course confidential, or want to consider it and know more about the research, I can be reached at tytti-lotta.ojala(at)hse.fi.

I would appreciate your help very much!

Sincerely,
Tytti-Lotta Ojala

Possibility to interview you?

Tytti-Lotta...

Dear David,
Thanks for replying to my post.
I'd be very interested in interviewing you. I'm aiming at finding "best practices" in packaging design and in my opinion consumer testing and research is one of the very top things in successful management of the packaging design process.

I'm going to be in California October-December 2009. If you would be willing to spend an hour or two with me, I would like to hear how you feel consumer attitudes can be researched, and how U.S.-based companies use your research during their packaging development processes, especially in packaging renewals.

Best,
Lotta

I'd be happy to be interviewed. Restore specializes in a patented, point of sale refill system, which automatically refills the original container with the same product and prints a coupon to reward the consumer and reduce the price of a refill. Let me know.
