Green packaging for organic snack food company
We are launching an organic snack food company and are seeking earth-friendly packaging. Currently we have selected stand-up zip pouches that are foil lined and heat sealed. The outside is made of brown Kraft paper. Our labels are made of PCW material.
The pouches supposedly use a low carbon footprint to manufacture but we would like to be as eco-friendly as possible so we are still considering other options.
The main issues are choosing a pouch, bag, package, etc. that will maintain the quality of the products (nuts, dried fruits, trail mix) and still be environmentally sustainable. Also, we are heavily considering using a nitrogen flushing process or an oxygen absorber to extend shelf life.
Does anyone have any ideas? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
