P&G elucidates new sustainability vision

P&G vice president of global sustainability Len Sauers speaks with Greener Package in an exclusive interview on the company’s sweeping new sustainability strategy.

Sauers.jpgIn late September, Procter & Gamble announced a new and comprehensive long-term vision surrounding sustainability that focuses primarily on achieving 100% renewable energy, zero waste, and the use of 100% recycled or renewable packaging materials. P&G will move toward these goals incrementally, in 10-year segments, with the first set of goals scheduled for delivery in 2020.

Following the announcement, Greener Package Managing Editor Anne Marie Mohan spoke with P&G vice president of global sustainability Len Sauers about the new vision and what role packaging plays in the overall strategy. In the following podcast, running approximately 13 minutes long, Sauers talks about how sustainability has shifted from being a corporate responsibility to becoming a business opportunity for P&G, and how innovation will shape sustainability advancements in the future.
