Turkish PET recycler purchases sheet-extrusion system

Processing Technologies International (PTi), a global manufacturer of sheet-extrusion machinery, has announced the sale of a new sheet-extrusion system to Aserpet, based in Gaziantep, Turkey, a PET recycler and soon-to-be manufacturer of PET sheet rollstock. The recently completed sale is PTi’s first in Turkey and represents a major stepping stone as part of the company’s global expansion strategy.
Aserpet, a recycler of PET flake for the packaging industry, purchased its first sheet extrusion line to help support the company’s entrance into the packaging industries. The PTi coextrusion system, which runs 750 kg/hr of PET, also includes a roll stand, winder, and stacker. The machine has been installed and is up and running at the Aserpet facility.
As part of its business plan, Aserpet considered several global suppliers of sheet extrusion systems. “After careful examination, we were impressed with PTi’s focus on high quality and its commitment to producing machinery with tight-tolerance capability,” said Oztas Kaleoglu, general manager of Aserpet. “Our comfort level grew even more due to PTi’s emphasis on customer support.”
PTi sold the machine through its agent, Kerem Anil with Plast-teknik in Istanbul. The company is exploring other business opportunities in Turkey, targeting PET, polypropylene, polystyrene, and barrier sheet-extrusion systems for the packaging industry.
