All-Fill, Exton, PA, and RMK Solar have announced the completion of the switchover of a 197.1-KW roof-based solar system at All-Fill’s plant. The system consists of 896 solar panels, each producing 22 watts, yielding a total of 197.1 KW. The arrays are connected to a central inverter connected to the main electrical service. It is estimated that the roof installation will provide up to 41% of the annual electrical usage for All-Fill’s building and operations.
According to All-Fill, the rooftop system will reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to taking more than 6 million cars off the road and planting more than 620,000 trees. This results in a total CO2 reduction of 12,532,362 lb over a 25-year period, All-Fill relates.
At a special unveiling ceremony, Pennsylvania state Senator Jim Gerlach toured the plant and spoke to the employees on such items as healthcare and the economy. All-Fill president Glenn Edginton introduced the senator to employees.
